Dr. Tish Polgar-Bailey is a licensed clinical psychologist and family nurse practitioner who has a private practice in clinical psychology and health psychology in Charlottesville Virginia. She also works at the University of Virginia in Pediatric Oncology and Hematology.
Her research and clinical interests have focused on the complex relationships between mental, physical and emotional health. She has clinical expertise in managing the psychological and emotional issues related to chronic diseases such as diabetes, asthma, stroke and cancer in children and adults.
Dr. Polgar-Bailey grew up and lived abroad for many years. She has lived and traveled extensively in Europe, Central and South America, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. She speaks several languages and is fluent in Spanish. She is particularly interested in the changes, similarities, and differences, amongst various societal norms and communication patterns in different cultures. She has clinical experience in assessing and treating feelings of anxiety, depression and other issues that can arise, as a result of cultural, societal and economic issues. She is committed to strengthening understanding, empathy, tolerance and acceptability of people from all walks of life.
